Alignment and Prep
Thisitem is unfinished/unpainted FRP fiber part and will require preparation justlike all aftermarket body parts, sanding down primer, alignment, body fillingare all needed for this item to be ready for the painting process. Sanding theblack gelcoat and primer is 100% necessary prior to paint. We do not recommendinstalling this without proper sealant or paint as this item is in FLAT blackand will scratch very easily even upon the slightest touch. We do not guarantyperfect fitment as the part will only look as good as how the installer workand craftsmanship is and this is very subjective.
Allparts have been test fitted on cars before molding to ensure the fitment, wealways recommend buyer install them by a professional body shop with carbon orfiberglass experience.
Due to these items being handcrafted in mold and production, little adjustment,sanding, trimming or cutting might be needed.
We are not responsible for install quotations, Body shopsgive many different prices on install and paint, please do your homework beforebuying this item. Getting a quote and estimate before hand can save you fromadditional costs and issues down the line. Please remember that body shops are businesses and choosingthe correct shop for value and experience is a good start.
Install Hardware
This item does not come with hardware, clipsand mounting brackets and thus will require custom mounting. We recommend abody shop with experience in custom cars do the install. Most products can beinstalled with self-tapping screws, 3M mounting tape, rivets and urethanesilicone adhesive (BETASEAL-U-418) Most of these items are readily available atmost hardware store and auto body supply shops.
Edge Contouring
Edge contouring is required for this item for properinstall, The manufacturer of this FRP fiber product leaves an extra 3-5mm ofextra material on the inner edge of the lip, this edge needs to be sanded downto the contour of the bumper/body part. If edge contouring is not done, gapswill be visible and the part will be short and fit very tight upon install. (DONOT BUY THIS PRODUCT if you or your body shop does not want to prep this itemby edge contouring.) By leaving extra FRP material, this gives the installerplay room with the product and will be able to correct the gaps.
