The car thermostat is to ensure that the engine works within the appropriate temperature range. The thermostat automatically adjusts the circulation of cooling water to help the engine cool down and make the engine work better.
The function of the thermostat housing:
The thermostat housing is to prevent component failure and ensure that the components remain sealed during vehicle use.
Thermostat fault diagnosis method:
1. Inspection after starting the engine.
Open the cooling water tank filler cap and check if there is water flow. If there is no water flow, the thermostat is damaged or there is a foreign object stuck between the main valve switch.
2. Check the engine after it has been running for a period of time.
When the water temperature gauge indicates below 70°C, check whether there is water flow in the water inlet pipe of the water tank. If the water is warm, the cooling water may be circulating too early. The thermostat main valve may not close tightly.
When the water temperature is higher than 80??, check whether the water flows through the water tank cover. If there is no flow, the thermostat is faulty.
3. Observe whether the performance of the water temperature meter is abnormal.
When the water temperature is below 80°C, check the water temperature meter. Under normal circumstances, in the early stages of engine operation, the water temperature gauge pointer rises rapidly.
When the water temperature is higher than 80°C, the pointer of the water temperature meter slows down, indicating that the thermostat is normal.
If the water temperature has been rising rapidly, especially when the pressure in the water tank reaches a certain level, and the boiling water suddenly overflows, it indicates that the main valve is stuck or the thermostat is Installation is Highly Recommended.
