The unit powers up and boots normally to the Toyota splash screen with no boot loop. The display is bright and clear, with no dead pixels, cracks, “line of death” or delamination. All hard buttons and knobs work, including:
- Power/Volume
- SETUP
- TUNE
- SEEK
The CD mechanism loads and ejects. Touch responds over most of the screen. What Does Not Work The touch digitizer has unresponsive areas. The Sound Settings screen, including Treble/Mid/Bass and Fader/Balance controls, does not respond to touch at all. Other lower and right-hand areas of the screen may also be affected. Buyer should assume that the touchscreen digitizer needs to be replaced. The unit is priced accordingly. Known Touchscreen Failure This is a well-documented failure on these units. Toyota issued TSB T-SB-0172-16 covering a partially inoperative touchscreen on 2014-2015 Camry, Camry Hybrid and Corolla vehicles equipped with the base audio system.
