One-of-a-kind custom automotive wall art created from an original 1966 Chevrolet C10 pickup grille.
This was a personal passion project and was built to preserve the history and character of the original truck while transforming the grille into a functional piece of illuminated automotive art.
I started with an original, heavily weathered 1966 Chevrolet C10 grille and intentionally preserved the age and history that were already present.
The grille was cleaned and stabilized without erasing its original character. I then hand-painted the CHEVROLET lettering, restored the white center grille detailing, selectively added additional color and patina to balance the original finish, and sealed the completed piece with clear coat.
The goal was never to make an old grille look new. It was to make the decades of wear, faded paint, exposed metal, dents, texture, and history become part of the artwork.
The original CHEVROLET lettering remains prominently visible across the front.
LIGHTED HEADLIGHTS
Both original headlight locations have been converted into functional lights using standard replaceable bulbs.
COLOR-CHANGING LED BACKLIGHTING
The grille is also backlit with color-changing LED lighting.
The LED system includes a remote and offers multiple functions including:
• Adjustable brightness
• Multiple colors
• Fade and transition modes
• Color-changing effects
• Music-responsive / sound-reactive modes
The combination of the warm headlight lighting and hidden LED backlighting gives the piece a completely different appearance depending on the room and lighting setting.
The colors, depth, reflections, texture, and lighting effects are difficult to fully capture in still photographs, so please watch the included video to see the piece operating.
READY TO HANG
The piece is currently set up to hang using heavy-duty wire and is ready for wall display.
Because this is built from an original steel automotive component, the mounting setup could also be easily modified for a different installation, display, or custom application.
AUTHENTIC VINTAGE AUTOMOTIVE MATERIAL
This is not a reproduction sign, printed image, lightweight decorative replica, or mass-produced garage decoration.
It is an actual vintage 1966 Chevrolet C10 front grille that has been individually refinished, hand detailed, wired, illuminated, and converted into functional automotive artwork.
The dents, worn paint, oxidation, scratches, surface irregularities, and other signs of age are intentionally retained as part of the finished design.
A before photo is included in the listing so you can see the original grille before the custom work was completed.
Because the base piece itself is vintage and the finish was created individually by hand, there will never be another one exactly like it.
