This is a new Hydro-Boost Power Brake Booster and Master Cylinder Kit for 1973-77 Chevy Chevelle and El Camino.
Hydro-boost systems are capable ofdelivering significantly greater pressure through a braking system than a vacuum boost. In some cases, you can more than double the pounds of pressure being distributed to your brakes simply by opting for hydro-boost.This qualityHydro-Boost hydraulic brake assist power booster fits vehicles such as 1973-77 Chevy Chevelle, Malibu and El Camino, and generates up to 1800psi of line pressure to the brake calipers.
It is fitted with a cast iron \"Corvette style\" Master Cylinder. This kit is powered by hydraulic line pressure from the power steering pump. Firewall and valve cover clearance is equivalent to a 7\" diameter vacuum booster and the included firewall mounting brackets are correct for the listed 1973-77 applications.
The average power steering pump puts out from 800psi to 1400psi line pressure. The Hydro-Boost uses this pressureto “boost”the force on the master cylinder\'s brake fluidand therefore apply more force to the brake calipers (and subsequently more force on the rotors with the brake pads).This greatly improves stopping performance and driver response. This hydraulic power booster can be easily installed on an existing vacuum booster vehicle or used to convert a manual brake setup to power.
