IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTES: This is a hydraulic flat-tappet camshaft kit, not a factory hydraulic roller camshaft replacement. Many later small-block engines use factory roller valvetrains and require different components. Verify your block, camshaft bearing journal oiling requirements, cylinder-head compatibility, valve spring specifications, rocker ratio and timing set before purchasing. Certain 1955–1957 Chevrolet 265 engines require a specific camshaft journal oiling groove.
PERFORMANCE BENEFITS
The XE268H profile is designed to provide a noticeable performance upgrade over a stock camshaft while retaining street-friendly characteristics. Its 224°/230° duration at .050” and .477”/.480” valve lift make it well suited to appropriately configured street-performance engines.
COMP Cams recommends supporting modifications such as a suitable intake manifold, headers and compatible rocker arms to take full advantage of the camshaft. A higher-stall torque converter may also be beneficial in automatic-transmission applications.
