Technical Notes
- Dual cap tank for carburetor models features a left side fuel gauge bung and a right side screw bung. Order 1996-up style gas caps separately. Not for fuel injected models. Check the tank for flaws and fit before painting. Requires sanding and primer. Do not grind or sand the seams or joints. Check the petcock opening making sure the petcock can be easily installed. The petcock fitting should be masked or plugged during painting for easy installation of the petcock. It is suggested to pressure test and use a tank sealer. We suggest using Kreem gas tank combo kit to clean condition and seal to help stop leaks and prevent corrosion. *NOTE: Does not have internal wires for the gas gauge. Factory sample is a brand new production part but may have imperfections in the finished surface. Check threaded and bearing holes for excess plating before installation. There are no physical defects such as cracks or holes there will be cosmetic imperfections only. May show marks from installation test and fitment.
- May have dings dents bent tabs and/or surface rust. Fuel tubes will need prep-work before paint.
