Introduction:
The air conditioning (AC) compressor is often referred to as the "heart" of a vehicle's climate control system. It is a vital component responsible for pressurizing and circulating the refrigerant throughout the AC system, allowing it to move from the evaporator to the condenser to remove heat from the passenger cabin.
Symptoms Of Damaged:
Warm air blowing from vents.
Loud grinding or whining noises when the AC is on.
The AC clutch failing to engage.
Refrigerant leaks.
Weak airflow.
The compressorcycling on and off excessively.
Installation steps:
Disconnect the battery and have a certified technician recover the refrigerant.
Disconnect electrical connectors, refrigerant lines, and remove the belt and mounting bolts.
Flush the AC system with approved cleaner.
Replace the receiver drier (or accumulator) and expansion valve.
Prepare New Compressor: Ensure it has the correct amount of PAG oil.
Position the compressor, tighten mounting bolts, and reconnect hoses using new O-rings/seals lubricated with refrigerant oil.
Use a vacuum pump to evacuate the system for at least 30-45 minutes to remove moisture, then charge with the correct refrigerant type and amount.
