Installation Instructions
1. Relieve fuel pressure: Pull fuel pump relay, crank engine until stall. Disconnect battery negative terminal.
2. Access fuel pump: Tilt truck bed forward (recommended) or remove fuel tank. Clean tank top to keep dirt out.
3. Disconnect fuel lines and wiring (take photos for reference). Remove old pump module by tapping lock ring counter‑clockwise with a brass punch.
4. Clean tank interior, remove debris. Discard old O‑ring. Assemble float arm on new module, remove red protective cap.
5. Lubricate new O‑ring with engine oil or petroleum jelly. **Do NOT use grease**.
6. Fit O‑ring to tank opening. Install new pump module, align arrow marks and press firmly. Do not bend float arm.
7. Tighten lock ring clockwise with brass punch until fully seated.
8. Re‑connect all fuel lines, wires and hoses (listen for click sound). Reinstall tank / reset truck bed. Reconnect battery.
9. Prime fuel system: Turn key to ON position (DO NOT start engine) 2‑3 times, hold 2‑3 seconds each time.
10. Start engine and check all joints for fuel ring cannot sit flush: Remove leftover old O‑ring, re‑lubricate, tap lock ring evenly.
Incorrect fuel gauge reading: Check for bent float arm or loose wire crimps.
Engine turns over but won’t start: Re‑prime fuel system, ensure all connectors click into place.
Gas odor present: Retighten lock ring, inspect O‑ring for pinching / damage.
