This HEI ignition distributor is designed as a replacement / upgrade distributor for classic Chevrolet inline 6 cylinder engines.
It is commonly used for Chevy 216, 235 and 261 straight 6 engines and is suitable for restoration, repair and electronic ignition upgrade projects.
Fitment
Fits classic Chevy straight 6 / inline 6 applications with 216, 235 or 261 engines.
Common applications include:
1942-1961 early Chevy inline 6 cylinder engines
Chevy 216 / 235 / 261 Stovebolt inline 6 engines
Classic Chevrolet passenger cars and trucks equipped with compatible inline 6 engines
Important: This part is for Chevy Straight 6 / Inline 6 engines only. It is not for Chevy V8 engines such as 283, 327, 350 or 409.

Installation Notes
Professional installation is highly recommended.
Ignition timing must be checked and adjusted after installation.
Make sure the distributor is correctly seated and aligned with the oil pump drive.
Check plug wire routing, firing order and wiring connection before starting the engine.
This distributor should not be used with a ballast resistor.
This distributor is not compatible with generator electrical systems.
