Up for sale is a vintage Opel GT instrument/gauge assembly featuring genuine German VDO instruments and a period-style custom mounting panel.
The assembly includes:
* 150 MPH VDO speedometer, marked W=1062
* 7,000 RPM tachometer
* Combination TEMP / TANK fuel-temperature gauge
* Multiple original-style rocker switches
* BRAKE warning indicator
* FLASHER indicator
* Complete textured black instrument panel/housing
* Rear gauge mechanisms, terminals and connectors as pictured
The W=1062 speedometer calibration is correct for 1971–1973 Opel GT applications, and was also used on automatic-transmission GTs during the 1968–1973 production run.
This is not the standard factory Opel GT dashboard housing. It appears to be a custom/modified instrument panel incorporating genuine Opel GT gauges, making it an interesting piece for an Opel GT restoration, custom build, parts collection, or period-correct project.
Condition: Used/vintage condition. Gauges and panel show age, dust, oxidation, scratches and cosmetic wear consistent with their age. There is visible corrosion and deterioration on some of the rear electrical components/connectors. Untested — being sold as-is for restoration/parts. Please examine all photos carefully; the photos are part of the description.
The gauges themselves have very nice original faces and needles for their age.
Included is exactly what is pictured — no additional wiring, sending units or mounting hardware are included unless shown.
A genuine W=1062 Opel GT speedometer alone is currently being offered around $75, while a used Opel GT speedometer/tachometer set is currently listed around $150, making this complete and unusual assembly particularly interesting to an Opel collector.
Great opportunity to acquire an unusual vintage Opel GT gauge assembly that would be difficult to duplicate today.
Please look closely at all photographs for condition and completeness.
