Please note that this diaphragm is not suitable for M48.01 motors (if your oil separator has 1 outlets for the crankcase ventilation pipe, then you have an M48.01 motor).

Over time, the internal components of the Porsche Cayenne oil separator wear out. The diaphragm loses elasticity, cracks or tears, and sealing elements can no longer maintain proper vacuum. As a result, the crankcase ventilation system stops working correctly.

When the diaphragm and sealing components fail, unmetered air is drawn into the engine downstream of the MAF sensor. This may lead to:

• unstable idle operation;

• hard starting;

• possible misfires;

• air-fuel mixture related fault codes.

Additionally, a damaged oil separator may allow dust and road contaminants to enter the engine, accelerating wear of internal engine components. A common symptom of failure is a whistling or hissing noise coming from the oil separator area.

Porsche supplies the oil separator only as a complete assembly, with an average cost of around $130. In most cases, replacing the entire unit is unnecessary.

This repair kit is designed to restore the original oil separator and includes the required components for proper repair (including the diaphragm), without replacing the housing.

Basic repair instructions:

1. Remove the oil separator from the engine.

2. Disassemble the housing and replace the worn components using the parts from the repair kit.

3. Reassemble the oil separator and reinstall it.

4. Start the engine.

After the first start, temporary unstable engine operation may occur. This is normal and related to ECU fuel trim adaptation after eliminating the vacuum leak. Allow the engine to run for a short period, then shut it off and restart.

After repair, proper crankcase ventilation is restored and engine operation returns to normal.
