Improved Oil Drainage
The factory Duramax oil pan features a valley that can prevent some of the old engine oil from fully draining during an oil change. This can leave contaminated oil behind that mixes with the fresh oil.
PPE addresses this issue with a flat-bottom deep pan design, allowing dirty engine oil to drain more completely during routine service.
Increased Oil Capacity
The PPE deep oil pan increases engine oil capacity by approximately one quart. The additional oil volume provides more fluid capacity for heat management and lubrication, which can be especially beneficial during demanding towing, hauling, and extended-duty applications.
Cast Aluminum Construction
Unlike the factory stamped-steel pan, this PPE oil pan is manufactured from high-grade cast aluminum alloy. Aluminum provides excellent heat dissipation while the heavy-duty cast construction offers improved strength and durability.
The increased thermal capacity can help manage engine oil temperatures during demanding operation.
Unshrouded Oil Pickup
The unshrouded oil pickup provides additional clearance around the oil pickup area, helping reduce restriction as oil enters the lubrication system.

The included hardened billet stainless steel drain plug features a high-strength Neodymium magnet designed to capture ferrous metal particles from the engine oil during operation.
