Front axle caliper upgrade kit only -- reuses OE-style rotor and spindle.
Requires GM D52 caliper mounting ears and rotor width ~1.04″–1.25″.
Does not fit metric D154 caliper mounts or 2-piston factory performance brakes.
Minimum 15″ wheel diameter recommended for caliper aluminum D52 dual-piston calipers -- lightweight, high strength.
2.00″ stainless pistons for even pad clamping.

Product Description

Wilwood’s 140-11290-R kit is a bolt-on front brake upgrade for a wide range of classic and late-RWD GM cars and trucks that were factory-equipped with the GM D52 single-piston floating caliper. By replacing the old iron calipers with forged aluminum dual-piston units, this kit improves clamping force, pedal feel, and heat management without requiring a rotor or spindle swap.

The calipers are powder-coated red, use 2.00″ stainless pistons, and accept the included Wilwood pads for street and performance driving. As with all D52 conversions, confirm that your vehicle has the correct GM D52 mounting ears, the proper rotor thickness, and at least a 15″ wheel for caliper clearance.
