I received the key today. It turns in the receiver fine, so the cut is right. The key will not pickup the code- as I understand, the key is inserted and turned to position 1, then removed. The lock button, the button closest to the metal key blade…is depressed while pressing the center button 3 times. At release of lock button, the doors are locked and then unlocked. Programming is complete. ALL of the procedure followed the script. The key operates the locks but will not START. Suggestions?

Transponder needs to be programed for it to start the vehicle.
