Up for sale here is one of my Hot Wheels Special Edition Snap-On Tune Up Shop's! More rare than any Hot Wheels Super Treasure Hunt in existence by FAR!
Snap-On ordered these in 2004 and they were ONLY sold via Snap-On dealer trucks who drive around selling to tools to professional mechanics (greasy hard working mechanics were not at work thinking about buying hot wheels I assure you), not to mention these were $119.99 at that time if you wanted to order one for your kids for Christmas!
Needless to say, not many of the mechanics bought these at that time, and the VERY FEW who did happen to buy them... bought them as Christmas gifts for their kids!!! (not collectors, not hot wheel enthusiasts but rather oily mechanics with kids who tore these open and played with them only to surely be trashed within months or years).
Now your getting the full history of the how & why the coveted cars inside these snap on tune up shops are so rare today!
That coupled with the fact that now many Snap-On collectors are as fanatical as Hot Wheels collectors and you have cross mingled collectables highly coveted by two completely different groups of collectors!
There is nobody on this planet who can show you pictures like mine (so I included a few for you to see of some of my Hot Wheel/Snap-On collectable's such as a sealed cases of actual snap on hot wheels sets, Sealed Cases of Tune Up Shops, Sealed Cases of Service Stations (all with original outer boxes!) I show this to make you understand that my stuff is actually "gradable" quality stuff (not to be confused with 99.9% of the Snap-On Hot Wheels available out there in the world (My stuff has been sitting in a Snap-On office closet for 20years!).
Therefor... having said that, I'm looking for the folks that want an actual investment (like the 1969 Beach Bomb or the proof double eagle coin) ... When I see STH hot wheels that are not nearly as rare as thesnap on Nissan Skyline selling for $500 - $1000 I begin to think maybe its time release some of my collection to the world because if I was an investor its a no-brainer where I would put my money (The number of Snap-On Nissan Skylines & Toyota Celica's mint in package in the world might be 100, The number of Hot Wheels super treasure hunts each year are in the thousands! and because STH hot wheels are available through every store & site in the world almost 100% of those thousands are never opened and will remain in mint package condition by hot wheels collectors). A wise collector/investor will know understand these concepts very clearly...
I would prefer to open the tune up shop, remove the 2 cars inside and place in protectors prior to mailing but if you prefer it remain sealed I will leave it sealed for grade A buyers with a record of integrity.
If you want a service set, or car sets that are directly from a sealed case let me know and ill post them up for you.
