This is an original 1940 Ford Trunk Handle and Base. It has the hard to find license light socket part that is in good condition.The key works and locks the handle. Someone cut the big end of the key evidently to distinguish it from the ignition key.All the chrome parts have pin heads in them and the chrome has deteriorated. The key hole cover is held on with a spring loaded screw and nut rather than the original attachment. The license light lens has a small chip in the back edge of it that cannot be seen wheninstalled -see the last photo.This unit would be good for a barn find type driver..It is Not show quality. Or use for parts to help restore yours.
