Here we have a lower unit for 1987-1988 JohnsonEvinrude 2 cylinder/2 stroke 28 hp outboards, applications below. This lower unit is in good working condition. It was removed from an outboard that was only used in freshwater. It turns over smoothly and shifts correctly. The gear lube was clean when we checked it, no water and no metal. The water pump impeller is used but is in decent condition. This a long shaft lower unit for 20" transom motors! The lower unit does have some cosmetic wear- scuffs, chip in the cav plate and some paint loss.

NOTE: This lower unit also fits some early 1980's 25 hp models(the non-prop thru exhaust models).
