This used module carries the donor vehicle's VIN and must be programmed to your VIN:
- Tool: GM SPS2 (Techline Connect with MDI 2) – "Replace and Reprogram" to write your VIN and vehicle options (RPO) to this EBCM, followed by EBCM setup
- A J2534 pass-thru tool (e.g., Autel, Launch) running a GM SPS2 subscription may also work
- Steering angle / yaw sensor calibration is usually also required on vehicles with StabiliTrak
- If SPS will not change the VIN, the module may need to be reset (virginized) by a qualified specialist
Professional installation required
This unit must be installed and coded by a professional licensed technician using VIN-rewrite capable scan tools. Installation without the required setup can leave warning lights on and the ABS / stability system disabled.
