A. A muffler delete can enhance exhaust flow, leading to a slight increase in throttle response. However, gains in horsepower or torque are usually minimal without other supporting modifications
Q. What about the valve, why doesn\'t this product also delete that?
A. Deleting the valve will change the volume and tone of your system but it is not necessary to remove it. Here is a link to a video explaining how to simply get it to stay open and how it sounds stuck open compared to functioning properly.
Q. What does it sound like?
A. The muffler delete will be louder than the muffler by about 25%, it will have a higher tone, it can crackle a bit but that tends to go away if you eliminate the flapper valve.
Q. Can I install it myself?
A. Yes, the installation process is straightforward. It involves cutting out the existing muffler, installing the new muffler, and securing it with clamps. Welding is optional but can be done if you have the capability or by a muffler shop.
It is important to install the clamps properly for a proper seal, a little high temp silicone inside of the joint will help the sealing process. We have designed the slots in the tubing to exactly match the width of the clamp. Line the clamp up with the slots and tighten extremely tight, preferably with an air powered impact wrench.
