Are you facing difficulty in moving a shipping container or stressed about the risk of container damage? Get this shipping container wheel kit that comes with 6-lug shipping container wheel kit. The shipping container wheel, with other accessories of the kit, helps you to turn your shipping container into a movable unit and move it to shorter distances without any forklifts or cranes. Size and Pattern: The bolt-on spindle kit is designed for 6-lug nut wheels (5.5" bolt center-to-center distance). It ensures a secure fit and balanced load distribution while moving the shipping container. The wheel assembly measures 13" long, 3-1/8" wide, and 14-1/4" high. The overall diameter of the container wheel assembly is 7", whereas the center hole diameter is 2-3/8". The size of the wheel assembly provides a stable base for moving heavy containers. The complete set is sturdy yet manageable to handle during setup. We also provide a shipping container dolly.
Fitment and Compatibility: This 6 x 5.5 lug shipping container wheel kit is engineered to fit into the corner pocket of the container. Once inserted, the wheel assembly rotates up 90 degrees to lock into position, allowing smooth mobility. It’s compatible with 20' and 40' shipping containers, making it suitable for most container types used in construction sites, storage yards, and transport facilities. Raise your container to the leveled height with our shipping container jack lug leveling attachment to complete the installation process.
Durable Construction: This bolt-on spindle kit is constructed from heavy-duty alloy steel with a powder-coated finish. The wheels are made to withstand harsh working environments. Its robust material provides exceptional load-bearing capacity of up to 8,000 lbs, ensuring long-lasting performance and protection against corrosion, wear, and impact during frequent use. Application: These container wheels transform a stationary shipping container into a mobile unit, allowing users to easily move or reposition containers without heavy machinery. This product is ideal for:
- Construction sites that need flexible container positioning
- Storage yards where containers are frequently rearranged
- Temporary offices or mobile workshops requiring on-site mobility

Includes: 6 Lug Shipping Container Wheel (2 Pcs), Screw Pin Shackle (2 Pcs), and Ratchet Strap with Wire hook (2 Pcs)
Ratchet Strap: The kit includes a 2" x 11' (approx) ratchet strap with a wire hook in orange color, providing a secure tie-down system to hold the wheel kit firmly and keep the container in place during movement. The ratchet mechanism ensures tight tension control and reduces accidental slippage while towing or pushing the container. It minimizes the risk of unstable/shifting containers while moving. It also solves the pain of instability, time wastage, and unsafe container handling for the users by providing a secure, adjustable, and quick-securing system.
Shackle: A 7/16" carbon steel screw pin shackle is included to reinforce the wheel setup and connect the ratchet straps securely. It has a working load limit of 1-1/2 T. The screw pin of the anchor shackle is 2-1/2" long and has a 1/2" diameter. This shackle provides high tensile strength and easy pin removal, making it reliable for repetitive use in industrial and outdoor environments.
Easy-to-Use: This kit is designed for quick installation and removal. The wheel bracket fits directly into the container’s corner pocket without requiring modifications. The rotating 90° lock mechanism, along with the provided strap and shackle system, makes setup simple and safe. This user-friendly design allows operators to move containers in minutes, saving significant time, labor, and equipment costs.

How to Use this Kit

At first, position the container on flat, level ground. Make sure it's not under load or attached to any other trailer.
Now insert the container axle into the corner pockets of the container by lifting the wheel assembly by the center bracket. Align the mounting plate with the bottom corner pockets, and slide the bracket straight into the pocket until it is fully seated.
Once inserted, lift and rotate the wheel upward to a 90-degree vertical position. Ensure the wheel assembly is straight and stable before proceeding.
Now, identify the anchor slot on the wheel bracket and insert the shackle through the hole. Tighten it with the screw pin until snug.
Now attach the ratchet strap by hooking its wire hook into the shackle.
Take the free end of the ratchet strap and attach it to the top point of the container frame (usually the corner casting opening, container tie-down slot). Thread the strap into the ratchet mechanism and remove slack. Tighten the strap and ensure there is no sway or movement in the wheel assembly.
Check the installation once, and now you can move your container using a small tractor, forklift, or by pushing it manually (if empty).

Safety Considerations

Use the 6 x 5.5 lug shipping container wheel kit only on flat, stable ground.
This kit is meant for short-distance movement only. Not for highway towing.
Keep hands and feet away from pinch points during rotation and tensioning.
Use proper PPE: gloves, boots, and eye protection.
Ensure the container is empty or lightly loaded for easier and safer movement.
