Installation Guide
Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.Remove the old gas spring by carefully detaching it from the mounting points.
Align the new gas spring with the mounting points on the left, right, or front side.Secure the new gas spring in place, ensuring it is properly connected.
Test the installation by opening and closing the vehicle hatch or trunk to verify smooth operation.
When To Replace Lift Support?
- When you find that using manpower to support the trunk or engine requiring great physical exertion, you should install a pair of gas lift support rod to ensure your safety and save your strength.
- Your lift support is beginning to wear-out when the gate or hood is difficult to lift, begins to sag when in an open position, or can\'t be held in position without some other propping device. That can turn into a physical catastrophe if the lift fails to open or slams closed when in the open position. This is very dangerous!
- All lift supports eventually have to be replaced because they have a small gas-charge which naturally escapes over time through the lift support seal.
- Lift supports generally wear-out in 3 - 5 years. Extremes in weather (extreme hot or cold) or abnormally excessive opening or closing will shorten the life of your lift support.
