Please look at all the photos and ask any questions you may have before buying this cluster.
This has been tested and the speedometer and odometer work. I added several drops of lite oil to the back of the speedometer head before testing. The speedometer, while connected to a master speed comparator is showing about 3-4 mph fast at 60 mph. The gauges have also been tested and work. The temp gauge is a little sticky but did meet the benchmark to high or full mark. I used the original voltage limiter that is still attached to the cluster for testing. I would suggest that it be replaced with a new OEM style unit or an electronic one. It does show some discoloration around the ignition terminal like it had been overheated at some point.
This has wear and scratches from use and age. There are some surface rust areas on the housing. While there is pitting on the chrome it is still fairly shiny and looks decent. The lens has been cleaned and litely polished. I did not completely disassemble this cluster. I removed the chrome bezel and lens to clean them. The gauges and sheet metal facets were not removed. The needles are faded and need touched up. The turn signal lenses are still green. The high beam lens is either missing or faded to clear. The red oil light lens is shifted partially to one side or is broken. The generator lens is still bright red and looks ok. I did not check the back lighting lenses, they may be missing or broken.⚠️ ATTENTION BUYERS - PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING ⚠️This is a 67-year-old piece of vintage automotive equipment. 🛠️ A Note for Builders & Restorers:Please keep in mind that while this assembly is functional and looks decent, it is a 67-year-old survivor component. * **Perfect For:** Anyone upgrading a daily driver, local show car, or replacing a broken/heavily pitted cluster. It is good for a driver-quality vehicle.* **If You Are Doing a Concours/High-End Show Build:** This is a working foundation piece, but it is an un-restored original and should be professionally restored/detailed if you are chasing a perfect show car.
