Basic Installation StepsOf Drive Shaft
1.Pre-installation Preparation.Lift and secure the vehicle; prepare special tools such as a torque wrench. Clean the surfaces of the drive shaft, flanges and universal joints, and verify that the part model matches the OE parameters.
2.Old Part Removal.Loosen the flange bolts at both ends of the drive shaft in a diagonal sequence, pry it away from the transmission and rear axle flanges, and remove the old drive shaft.
3.Grease Application.Apply high-temperature grease to the spline grooves and universal joint bearings, and coat a thin layer of grease on the oil seal lips to prevent oil leakage.
4.Positioning and Installation.Align the splines of the new drive shaft with the transmission output shaft and push it in, align the flange holes at both ends, and manually screw in all bolts.
5.Bolt Tightening.Tighten the bolts to the torque value specified by the manufacturer in a diagonal sequence with a torque wrench, and check for no axial movement.
6.Protective Parts Installation.Install the dust covers and fasten the clamps tightly; mount the undercarriage guard plate to ensure no interference.
7.Post-installation Testing.Lower the vehicle, start the engine and shift through all gears, and check for smooth operation without abnormalities. Conduct a road test at various speeds to inspect for abnormal noise, vibration and oil that the universal joints at both ends of the drive shaft are in the same plane during installation; otherwise, it will cause rotational vibration.
2.Never start the vehicle before tightening the bolts to prevent the drive shaft from falling off and causing safety accidents.
3.If abnormal noise or vibration occurs after installation, recheck the bolt torque and drive shaft positioning; disassemble and adjust if necessary.
