ARP Balancer Bolts
As the crankshaft flexes, the balancer absorbs incredible amounts of energy. ARP balancer bolt kits will ensure that your balancer is locked into position. They feature a 12-point head that accepts a deep socket to eliminate the fear of stripping the head.

Questions & Answers
Q: Would this bolt work on the Vortec 3500? Threads seem to match, but length seems inconsistent across sources on my platform.
A: The ARP Head Stud Bolt for LS Gen III/IV Engines 8740 Chromoly 234-2503 Bolts will not fit a Vortec 3500 engine. Currently, we do not offer balancer bolts for that application at this time.
Q: A 1/16 wrench did not fit this bolt. it was to small for the bolt. What size wrench fits this bolt?
A: Just like the 1.1/16\" wrench, the 27mm is also to small for the bolt.
A: According to a mm to inches conversion chart, a 27 mm wrench is the same as a 1.1/16\".
Getting a 27 mm wrench would be the same as the wrench that was to small for the bolt.
A: ARP Balancer Bolts 234-2503 features a 27mm (1.0630) 12-point head, which is slightly larger than 1 1/16 in. (1.0625 in.). We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the current error on this product page and will update it as soon as possible.
Q: I recently had to repair the threads on my crank shaft when replacing my harmonic balancer. I managed to clean up the threads and I am able to use the original thread pitch but I noticed the hole was about a quarter of an inch longer than the bolt I pulled out. I was wanting to replace the OE bolt with this ARP one but I\'m a bit unsure about the length. I do know that OE bolt is TTY and stretches but I don\'t know about 1/4 of and inch my guess is the lack of engagement is what caused the original damage to the threads.
A: I believe they are both the same length. You certainly don\'t want the bolt to bottom out while tightening.
But the arp is harder steel and not torque to yield. Also reusable.
A: The factory bolt is 103mm (4.055\"). The ARP balancer bolt (234-2503) is 109.8mm (4 325\"). This bolt is for wet sump engines. 234-2504 is the bolt needed for dry sump engines. It is significantly longer 132.7mm (5.225\"). I hope this helps.
A: Is there a question in here?
I\'ve worked on more LS engines than I can count and have never seen someone mess the threads up on the balancer bolt.
I just installed this bolt on my LS with no problems, torqued to the 256 ft lbs I think it was and no problems.
This ARP bolt is a great addition to all the rest of my ARP bolts on my motor.
A: If your previous bolt failed, chances are it was because of improper torque procedures or the balancer itself had been going bad and was not changed soon enough. The 1/4\" difference is negligible for an item like this. Just ensure to fully seat the balancer per vehicle specs and torque the new balancer bolt to the proper specs (per the instruction sheet).
Q: What size socket do you need in 12-point?
A: You will need a 6 point 24mm to remove the OEM crank / harmonic balancer bolt, and a 12 point 27mm for the ARP bolt. One of the nice thinga about the ARP bolt, is that it\'s reusable (unlike the OEM bolt).
A: 27mm 12 point for this bolt and a 24mm for the OEM bolt.
A: 1-1/16 fits perfect.
A: It\'s a 1 1/16 12 point
A: 1-1/16\"
A: 1-1/16\"
I used a deep socket to clear the harmonic balancer.
A: 1 1/16 12 point
A: 1 and 1/16
Q: Will this work on my 2004 silverado 1500 5.3 LM7 engine? Saw a review that it was too long for a 5.3 and want to confirm
A: Lq4 6.0 liter 2005 h2 same size with the washer.
Slightly longer without the washer.
A: Yes it will fit. Make sure you buy the 234-2503 and not the 234-2502. Both are for Chevy trucks, except one is about an inch longer than the other.
A: The ARP Balancer Bolts 234-2503 Bolts will fit a 2004 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3L LM7 engine.
Q: Will this fitt on a 2011 cts v LSA motor ?
A: ARP Balancer Bolt 234-2503 will fit your 2011 Cadillac CTS V LSA engine.
A: I\'m using this on my 2011 CTS-V with ATI damper
