Offered here is a vintage AiResearch (Garrett) aircraft cooling turbine, part number 15866-52-6, serial number 2-1981, manufactured in the United States by AiResearch Mfg. Co. of California (FSCM 70210).
The turbine is identified on both the original storage box and the factory data plate, with matching part and serial numbers throughout. The unit retains protective inlet and outlet caps, intact factory safety wiring, and taped mounting flanges, indicating careful handling and long-term controlled storage rather than post-service installation.
A yellow FAA-approved serviceable tag from Batch-Air, Inc., an FAA-approved repair station (No. 3606), is attached and dated May 19, 1987, certifying the turbine as serviceable at that time. No claim is made regarding current airworthiness, certification, or suitability for installation.
A cast marking “56220” is present on the housing and is consistent with an internal foundry or housing identification number rather than a catalog part number.
This component is a bleed-air / environmental control system (ECS) cooling turbine, designed to reduce air temperature through expansion across a turbine stage for aircraft environmental or equipment-cooling systems. It is a specialized mechanical aircraft subsystem component and is not a propulsion or fuel-system item.
The turbine is offered strictly as a surplus aircraft component suitable for collection, restoration reference, technical display, museum use, or educational purposes.
