This process requires HID ballast which produces high voltage of 23000V to perform the task, however with common ballast it takes around 7 to 10 seconds discharge time for the bulb to reach its full 100% brightness. With New Sportiva Boltz series ballast Quick-start chipset technology, the HID bulb discharge time can be shorten to about 3 seconds to reach its full 100% brightness as shown in comparison chart below.
