Product Description

The BBK 8002 is a 76mm mass air meter (MAF) designed for 1986–1993 Fox Body Ford Mustang GT and LX models equipped with the 5.0L EFI engine and a fenderwell-style cold air intake. The stock 55mm mass air meter limits airflow to approximately 550 CFM -- the BBK unit opens that up to over 700 CFM, allowing the engine to accurately meter the increased airflow delivered by an upgraded cold air intake. Each unit starts as a 356 aluminum casting that is powder coated and then CNC machined to tight tolerances before being fitted with BBK\'s electronically pre-calibrated sensor module, set specifically for 19 lb/hr injectors. Dyno testing has shown gains of up to 15 RWHP over stock.

Installation is plug-and-play -- the 8002 uses the same 6-pin rectangular connector found on 1996–2004 Mustang MAFs, and BBK includes a 6-to-4-pin adapter for direct compatibility with the 1986–1993 4-pin oval harness. No special tools or ECU calibration are required. Note this is the Cold Air Calibration version, optimized for fenderwell cold air intake kits; it is not compatible with the Cobra ECM and is not CARB legal. Backed by BBK\'s 1-year warranty.
