What is snout sleeve repair kit?
ClutchMax has designed a stainless steel sleeve that slides over worn or damaged aluminum snout. This is attached to the snout with a screw in less than 5 minute. In the extreme case that the transmission snout is significantly damaged, there only needs to be about 3/4 of an inch of material left to be able to successfully install sleeve kit. Once the sleeve is installed, you just need to use the new heavy-duty oversized release (throw-out) bearing that comes in the kit. Because the sleeve housing has a tighter tolerance to the new bearing, and because it is a more durable material, in most cases sleeve kit will prevent this same type of failure from happening again. For that reason, many users install this kit as a preventative measure when installing a clutch assembly even if they haven't had a failure yet. Does not require any modification or machining.
