Rim Patch will allow you to make a permanent repair to your cracked wheel in as much time as it takes to patch a tire. There are two ways you can do it after purchasing our kit. #1 Take the kit to your local tire shop and after the read the simple instructions they will typically charge your as much as they do to patchy a tire. Most shops are between $20 and $40 unless you havea large diameter wheel then it will be more. #2 Just have your local tire shop remove the tire for you and you can apply theRim Patch yourself. Then take it back to them to have the tire reinstalled.
Rim Patch is a product that will withstand the high temperatures of the wheel that are produced on a hour long trip or aggressivedriving. It is virtually unbreakable and once installed properly you would have to grind it to have it removed.
Each kit has enough patches to do 4 crack repairs. If you have more than 4 cracks look for our Master Kit that can do 10 cracks.
Why useRim Patch instead of welding
We found out the hard way that welded wheels recrack in the exact same spot 20% of the time and potentiallyruining your tire. OurRim Patch has a less that 1% failure rate after more than 5,000 patches installed. If your rim has multiple cracks and you try to weld them then there is a 90% that they will recrack .
Why can't I just use my own tape and cleaner?
Most tapes that you have access to are only good for up to 150 degrees and a wheel during a trip can reach almost double that. Also the Alloy Prep not only cleans the wheel but conditions the alloy before receivingthe patch.
How long will theRim Patch last?
Althoughour process has only been around for a few years we have several customers with over 50,000 miles on them and are still leak free today.
