Fits 1967-1974 Camaro,1965-1974 Chevy Full Size, 1964-1974 Chevelle/El Camino, 1970-1974 Monte Carlo, 1968-1974 Nova, 283-400ci Small Block Chevy, 1.625\" Primary Tube x 3.00\" O.D Collector Size. Hooker Competition headers offer the best value in the high performance header market. Designed for the value-conscious buyer, Hooker Competition headers offer premium features at a very competitive price. Made of durable 16 gauge mild steel tubing, the Hooker Competition header design utilizes a long transition collector to reduce back pressure and increase exhaust flow. A perfect sealing surface is assured with the 5/16\" machined flanges. Experience has proven that this flange size is ideal to maintain header integrity and be pliable enough to seal each exhaust port. Tubing is mandrel-bent to maintain metal strength and provide consistent tube diameter at radii to maximize performance. Hooker Competition headers have a standard finish that features a heat-cured, high-heat-resistant paint. Optionally, the famous Hooker Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coating is available.. Installation requires air conditioning bracket Part #10925HKR left side or Part #10926HKRright side. This header is designed to fit multiple vehicle applications. As such, the collectors exit at two different heights in order to accommodate them all. If you are looking for a header with more available ground clearance, please check out part number 2466HKR or the Super Competition header designed specifically for your vehicle. Factory style motor mounts must be used to ensure proper engine locations and header fit. Aftermarket solid and urethane mounts, worn or incorrect mounts will cause header fitment issues. If you have floor pan clearance issues on the pass side header, check your sub-frame mounts. This header will not fit with close ratio steering box or rack conversions. Lowered ride height may result in insufficient ground clearance Check (2466HKR or Super Competition header for your vehicle). This header was designed around the factory small block engine with factory heads. Raised port heads, D-port heads or non-stock plug locations may cause gasket leaks and header fitment issues that require modification to fit. This header will not work with angle plug heads. Long-tube headers do not include reducers. Do not use header wraps; they can cause header tube cracking from excessive heat or rust from moisture build-up and void the warranty. Breaking in an engine with ceramic-coated headers can damage the coating and void the warranty. Use cast-iron exhaust manifolds or old headers during engine break-in to prevent coating damage. Ceramic-coated headers require several heat cycles to fully cure before withstanding extreme heat.
