These are upgraded from the original 1/4" to 3/8" thick expanded PVC. These are considerably more rigid than the 1/4" OEM style covers. This material is getting hard to source, and at times is on backorder.
*** CURRENTLY BACKORDERED, ESTIMATED 6-8 WEEKS FROM TODAY TO RETURN TO STOCK as of 8-20-26. I went ahead and cut a few sets from the next thickness that was in stock of .472" thick. I've made yet a 3rd listing, see "Macgregor 26X sailboat UPGRADED 1/2" (.472)" thick exp. PVC interior cabin access covers". If you don't mind the wait, feel free to purchase these and I'll keep you updated on the material. ***
This is a complete set of hatch covers for the Macgregor 26X. Used primarily in the signage industry, expanded PVC is becoming very popular in marine use due to its attractive properties. Compared to traditional wood access covers, it is not quite as rigid, however it is much more durable. It is waterproof, mold and mildew resistant, non-toxic, and will not rot and become weak over time like wood. Expanded PVC has a superior strength to weight ratio, making it substantially lighter than wood. They are easily cleaned with soapy water, mild cleaners, isopropyl alcohol, or Magic Eraser sponges.
Includes 4 rear berth, 3 V-berth, 1 for the dinette seat, 1 for the ice box seat, 1 for the dinette floor, 1 port aft seat, 1 port forward seat.
Each cover has a hole for opening convenience.
Due to the manufacturing processes, there will be some light discoloration along the cut edge, and there is a possibility of a light scratch/gouge on a panel or two. This is rare and is only aesthetic, effecting only one side of the panel.
Please let me know if you have any questions before purchasing.
