The Wehrli 04.5-16 Chevrolet 6.6L LLY/LBZ/LMM/LML Duramax VGT Exhaust Housing Heat Blanket is a high-performance, handcrafted heat shield designed to reduce under-hood temperatures and improve turbocharger efficiency on your 2004.5-2016 Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra 2500/3500 HD equipped with the 6.6L Duramax diesel. Made in the USA, this heat blanket features internal ceramic insulation rated to withstand over 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit, protected by a durable wire mesh layer for maximum abrasion resistance. Its precise fit conforms tightly around the stock exhaust housing, helping to lower radiant heat by up to 80%, which retains thermal energy within the housing and enhances exhaust gas velocity. The finished grey high-temperature shell with stainless steel rivets provides an attractive cover for the turbo exhaust housing, improving engine bay aesthetics and performance.
Designed specifically for 2004.5-2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500/3500 HD trucks with the 6.6L Duramax diesel engine, this heat blanket is a direct replacement for the stock turbo housing cover. It is not compatible with OEM metal turbo heat shields. Ideal for extreme performance applications, including towing, off-road, and daily driving, this blanket helps maintain turbo response and efficiency by managing heat effectively. Installation involves wrapping the blanket around the existing exhaust housing, providing a straightforward upgrade that enhances engine cooling and reduces under-hood heat. This product is suited for enthusiasts seeking to optimize turbo performance and engine bay cleanliness.
