The first 252 GT350's of 1966 were based off of the 1965 model and retained some of their features. Colors added to this year's line-up included Raven Black, Candyapple Red, Ivy Green, and Saphire Blue. Unique to the "66 GT350 is a plexiglass window on the c-panel instead of the previous year's air vents. The "66 GT350 also featured functional 1/4 panel air scoops that fed cool air to the rear brakes.
Other model changes included:
Deluxe Mustang wood-grain steering wheel
Cobra tachometer
Cobra GT350 logo on the gas cap
Rear seats kept in car
Automatic transmission offered
