Hooker recommends using cast iron exhaust manifolds or old headers during your engine break-in period to avoid damaging your coated damage. The use of header wraps can cause the header tubes to crack or rust due to excessive heat and moisture build-up. Hooker does not recommend the use of header wraps as this will void the warranty. Do not use header wraps; they can cause header tube cracking from excessive heat or rust from moisture build-up and void the warranty. Breaking in an engine with ceramic-coated headers can damage the coating and void the warranty. Use cast-iron exhaust manifolds or old headers during engine break-in to prevent coating damage. Ceramic-coated headers require several heat cycles to fully cure before withstanding extreme heat.
