At approximately 13 pounds, the lighter design allows the engine to accelerate and decelerate more quickly than with a heavier factory flywheel. Drivers may notice faster throttle response, quicker rev matching and a more responsive performance feel. The flywheel is precision-machined and balanced to help reduce weight variation and rotational imbalance. Surface heat treatment improves wear resistance and durability at the clutch contact area. Lightweight flywheels can transmit more normal drivetrain sound than heavy factory flywheels.
