This clutch cable conversion kit makes installing a late model Mustang 5-speed or 6-speed transmission into your early model Mustang a whole lot easier! Give your Mustang a much smoother alternative to your stock mechanical linkage with this heavy duty lined cable. Modern Driveline's clutch cable conversion provides piece of mind with less parts to break or go missing when compared to the stock mechanical clutch linkage. A clutch cable is a great upgrade from mechanical linkage without the hassle of installing a hydraulic system.
Modern Driveline's clutch cable conversion will work with T-5, T-45, T-56 or Tremec transmissions. A 1986-1995 5.0L Mustang bellhousing or scatter shield can be used with the clutch cable conversion as well. Clutch adjustment is easy with the built-in cable adjuster and no tools are needed. The custom length cable clears headers and shock towers. Manual and brake setups and most power brake boosters are compatible with the Modern Driveline clutch cable conversion kit.

Please Note:
- This kit is designed to work on manual brakes and for power brakes that are using the original style booster.
- This kit may not work with aftermarket boosters as they might interfere with the mounts that come through the firewall.
- The cable cannot be pulled out of its natural path to clear exhaust, and may not work with long-tube or Tri-Y headers.
- This kit works with OE Bendix 8" booster. It will not work with Midland brake booster (band clamp) and certain aftermarket 8" and larger brake boosters.
- Also fits 1967-1968 Mercury Cougar.
Tech Tip: Clutch cables do not work with all long tube headers. Many long tube headers are tucked tightly in towards the block to avoid mechanical clutch linkage. Check to see if your headers will work with the clutch cable kit.
